Clearing Removable Media

The memory of any previously used therapy devices, modems, or media (USB drives or SD cards) should be cleared prior to reassigning them to other patients. Consult the documentation included with the therapy device or modem for instructions on clearing its memory.

Using the Data Card Utilities (DCU) server, users can clear therapy data and prescription information from media during Download Therapy Data and Send Prescription to Card.

Clearing Media During Download Therapy Data

To clear therapy data and prescription information from media:

Note: You must have Clinical User, Clinical Assistant, or Patient Viewer permissions to perform this task.

1. Insert media into your computer.

2. Click on the Data Card Utilities link in the Action Panel.
   The Data Card Utilities window displays.
   
   Note: When you attempt to use the Data Card Utilities in Care Orchestrator, you will be prompted to install the latest version of Data Card Utilities if you do not have it installed. Follow the on-screen instructions to download and install the latest version of Data Card Utilities.

3. Click the Erase card after download check box and click the Download Therapy Data button.
   Data Card Utilities download data, if necessary, and then clears all therapy data and prescription information from the SD card.

Clearing Media During Send Prescription to Card

To clear therapy data and prescription information from media:

Note: You must have Clinical User permissions to perform this task.

1. Click the Patients tab.
   The Patient search and a list of all patients displays.

2. Enter the patient's name, date of birth, or setup date and click the Search button.
   Based on entered information, relevant patients display.

3. Double-click the desired patient name to open the Patient window.
   Patient information displays.

4. With the selected patient displayed, click the Prescription tab.
   Prescription tab displays. Default prescription displays, if available.

5. At the bottom of the prescription, click the Send to Card button.
   Send Prescription to Card displays.

6. Choose to Erase prescription after successful delivery by selecting the check box and click the Send button.
   Data Card Utilities clears all prescription information from the media and then sends prescription to card.
