You must have Clinical User,or Clinical Assistant permissions to perform these tasks.
This help topic describes functionality that may not be part of the feature set in use at your company.
The Device Messaging feature allows Clinical Users to send care related messages to compatible patient devices via modem.
Note: This feature currently applies to DreamStation and DreamStation 2 devices with assigned prescriptions.
To create device messages:
Click the Patients tab.
The Patient search and a list of all patients displays.
Select whether to search by the patient's Name, External ID, Patient reference or Device serial number.
Note: Once the category to search by is selected, that option will remain the default search option for the remainder of the user's login. It will return to the system-wide default upon the next login.
The Date of birth, Postal code and Phone number search fields are displayed, which allows for more detailed searching.
Note: When searching by Date of birth, the entered date cannot be in the future and must be in the correct date format as displayed beneath the field.
Note: When searching by Postal code, the entry must be an exact match for the data entered into the Search field.
Note: When searching by Phone number, only numeric text is allowed in the Search field and the entry must be an exact match for the entered data in order to be displayed in the Patients list.
Note: The Search button is disabled until valid search criteria is entered into one or more of the additional search fields.
Based on entered information, relevant patients display.
Patient information displays.
Equipment section displays.
Device Messaging window displays current messages for that device.
Note: If the device is a DreamStation 2 the following canned messages may exist. Canned messages are different based on the market.
• Check your filters and replace them as directed.
• Call your provider about a new mask.
• Upload your therapy device's SD card at DreamMapper.com.
• Provide therapy hours to your homecare provider.
• Call provider for a routine follow-up.
• You have a home visit scheduled for: [date].
• You have a checkup appointment on: [date].
Note: If the visit scheduled message or the checkup appointment is selected, an Appointment Date field displays. This specifies the date that will be used in the message.
• Your mask is approaching end of life. A new mask will be shipped soon from Philips.
• If you need assistance with your therapy device contact your healthcare provider or Philips.
• You missed a scheduled checkup. Contact your healthcare provider for a new appointment.
• You failed to make last month's appointment. Contact your healthcare provider for a new appointment.
Note: Recurrence option is not available if Once is selected for Frequency.
Device message is saved
Messages are sent to device when following confirmation displays: Patient messages were sent. Please check Activity Log for updates.
Note: All device messaging activity is displayed in the Activity Log.
To edit device messages:
With Device Messaging window displayed, click the Edit button. .
Update desired settings and click Save.
Device message updates with new information.
With Device Messaging window displayed, click the Delete button. .
Deleted message is grayed out.
Click Send to Modem button to remove deleted message from the Device Messaging list and from the associated device.
